After exiting from Tarzanie, we hurried over to the chairlift for the trip up to Pustevny. It only ran once an hour, and we didn't want to miss it.

There was a mock-up of a chair that allowed Adriana to familiarize KK with it's operation.

We got in line when the operator started the lift up. Luckily the lineup wasn't too bad. I went first and carried the backpack up with me. The trip was a long one, and very scenic.

Adriana checks to see if anyone would like some fruit.

Delicious!

After what was probably a ten to fifteen minute ride, we got to the top. Of course, I exited the chair in the wrong direction and nearly got caught on one going back down the hill, (just like when I go skiing...). Adriana, Karel, and Krystof all made a perfect dismount.
The village at the top of the lift is really cool. There are restaurants, pubs, souvenir stalls, and pensions. The architecture looks like a combination of last century Czech and Russian Dachas.

Checking out the map, (and some realestate):

KK wants to see the little house, (domecek):

Nobody home:

Photo-op:

The trail up to Radegast is full of pubs. Adriana bought some "ears", a Czech Confection, for us to snack on.

KK's always ready to make new friends.

Krystof Kai gets back in the backpack for the trip up the mountain.

The Lookout:

There were bus loads of school kids visiting that day.

After checking out the lookout, we hike up even higher.

Lucky Krystof, for once the wind was behind him.....

The shrine to Radegast on top of Mount Radhošť

At the Radegast statue there is a nice little pub where you can get a pint.

When you buy your beer, you can get a stamp that proves you were at the memorial:

Beers and "ears"

Krystof makes more friends:

The trip back down.

Deadly flora:

We stopped for another pint back in the village. Karel also got some suasages.

KK hides on the big kids.

I guess Radegast also invented beer...

Time for the chairlift down.

This time I exited the chair half decently. KK loves motorcycles, and didn't waste any time climbing up on this one he found at the bottom of the hill.

"I was just looking at it!"

All too soon, it was time to head back to Celadna.
